About

Lone Aagaard has spent a large portion of her life on Helgenæs close to Mols Bjerge, where she has been breeding horses while working as a management consultant in her own business around Djursland and in Aarhus. Runas krig is her literary debut, and the illustrations are painted by the author herself with scenes from the magnificent landscapes in the area.

Lone Aagaard, born 1957, has a master’s degree in Nordic language and literature and cultural sociology.


Runas krig:

Thirteen-year-old Runa from the Helbo Clan refuses to leave her land, when troll warriors from Mols Bjerge attack her settlement. With her best friend Falk, she gathers an army of Henge Warriors and begins a bloody war against the Troll King.

Runas krig is a fantasy story about the battle between good and evil, magical powers, gnomes, and trolls. The story also deals with the difficult questions such as transitioning from childhood to adulthood, identity, gender and belonging, love and friendship and the relationship with the living nature around us. The universe in the novel is inspired by Nordic folklore and the nature on Djursland and in Mols Bjerge. til den levende natur omkring os.
