Follow in Bilbo’s furry footsteps as you embark on a perilous journey from Rivendell to Mordor. Solve Gollum’s riddles and experience the entire festival grounds like you have never seen them before!

Meet Rollespil i Ryomgård

Come and try your hand at shooting LARP bow and arrow like an elf, practicing elvish calligraphy with ink and quill og do sword training, so you are ready to meet a dragon. In exchange for some of your gold, you can also make a leather pouch.

Candle Decorating with Corra Design

Using special wax sheets, you can decorate your own candle. We provide the candles, and there is a wide selection of wax colors to choose from. You can cut your own designs or use one of our many templates.

Price: DKK 65 for one candle and one color. Additional colors available for purchase.

In the cellar, you can meet Syddjurs Library, which offers fun activities for all ages. Try your hand at:
Braiding your own bracelet
Helping complete a giant Tolkien puzzle

Learning about the Tolkien-themed signs placed around Syddjurs Municipality.
If you enjoy competitions, join in on Tolkien Book Bingo and see if you can get a full card. You can also dive into mystery and intrigue with a game of Werewolf—but beware: who is the bloodthirsty werewolf, and who is just an innocent, sleeping villager?

Sword Training with Østerskov Efterskole

Come and try your hand at LARP sword fighting!
Meet Østerskov Efterskole, where skilled students will guide you in becoming a true sword warrior.

Guided Tour at Rosenholm Castle

Step into the magic of Rosenholm Castle after hours with an exclusive guided tour — for just a little extra of your gold. Our knowledgeable guide will take you through the castle where the beloved Danish Christmas series Jul på Slottet was filmed.
We meet in the castle courtyard by one of the staircases 15 minutes before the tour begins. The guide will collect payment upon arrival.

Join us as the elves take their final journey on this earth.
If you wish to feel the same calm and enchanting atmosphere the elves did on their last walk, come along as they make their way toward the Grey Havens.

Drawing Workshop

Join a fun drawing workshop for ages 8–16 at Hjelm Dyb Festival and learn how to draw trolls!
You will get drawing tips for two different types of trolls—both the friendly and the fearsome kind.
We will talk about pointy ears and tusks, big troll bellies, and giant warts. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Tabletop RPG One-Shot with Game Master Lord Jan (Ages 12+)

Dungeon Accessories Workshop

When playing DnD, dungeon accessories are some of the most essential—and luckily, easiest—things to make. In this workshop, you will create dungeon tiles, walls, and pillars that can be used in any dungeon crawl.
There is no age requirement to participate, but you should be able to screw in a screw, paint, and draw with a pencil.

Radagast’s Rest

A meditative concert for flute and nature sounds by ENØE, performed in the intimate setting of the Chapel.
This gentle concert invites you into the world of Radagast the Brown—a quiet, vibrant, and sensory-rich nature where birds speak and trees listen.
With simple flute melodies and natural soundscapes, a space is created for calm, reflection, and connection with the green and the mysterious. The music is not grand like the Ainur’s song of creation, but humble and present—like a whisper from the heart of the forest.
Take a seat, breathe deeply, and let your mind wander with Radagast through clearings, birdsong, and silence.

Festival Opening and Prize Ceremony

Join us for the official opening of Hjelm Dyb Festival 2025!
Casper Clemmensen, author of Tolkien and the Mythical Jutland, will deliver the opening speech.
After the ceremony, the winner of the Hjelm Dyb Festival writing competition will be announced—a contest open to all 7th grade students in Syddjurs Municipality.
